TOP brass of the 2021 Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas VisMin Super Cup canceled the Iligan Archangels-ALZA Alayon Zamboanga match on Friday because of the Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Gymnasium’s slippery floor.
“We would like to apologize to everyone,” the league’s Head of Basketball Operations Chelito Caro said. “We had to prioritize the safety of the players.”
The rainy weather in Ipil cause the Ipil gym’s floor to be damp and slippery.
The match was stopped after the first quarter with Zamboanga Del Sur ahead, 13-11.
No amount of mopping could make the floor playable.
The game will be rescheduled to another day and the scores will be reset to 0-0.
