Camp Col. Rafael C. Rodriguez, Butuan City – Data from the Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division of Police Regional Office (PRO) 13 showed a significant decrease of 22.30% in the Peace and Order Index, which comprises the totality of index and non-index crimes in the region, during the second quarter of Calendar Year 2021 as compared to the same period over the last year.

POLICE BRIGADIER GENERAL ROMEO M. CARAMAT, JR., PRO13 Director, cited the new data released by RIDMD13 showing a 423 decrease in the Peace and Order Index in the region from 1,897 on the 2nd quarter of 2020 to 1,474 this year.

The Peace and Order Index reflects the true picture of crime and the peace and order situation of a particular community.

“This figure is the result of continuous efforts of the more than 7,000 Caraga cops to prevent and control crimes and maintain peace and order in the region. Moreover, the community has been an important ally of the police in these efforts to make the region a much safer place to live,” RD CARAMAT, JR. emphasized.

Just recently, the region’s top cop also reported a 36.87% decrease in index crimes region-wide during the first quarter of 2021 compared to the same period last year.
