Implementation of 3rd tranche of Salary Standardization Law seen


CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, June 7 — City Hall workers have something to look forward to.

Vice Mayor Raineir Joaquin V. Uy referred to the City Council committee on finance, budget and appropriations chaired by Councilor Edna M. Dahino, Supplemental Budget No. 2 of the General fund and Supplemental Budget No. 1 of the Special Account: Local Economic Enterprises for calendar year 2018, which are intended for the implementation of the third tranche salary increase for Cagayan de Oro City government employees as provided for under the Salary Standardization Law.

Supplemental Budget No. 2, with estimated total income of P52.3 million and SB 1, P11.2 million, will be funded from the Realignment of Lump-sum Appropriations of the city.

The implementation of the salary increase is provided in Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Local Budget Circular No. 115, which prescribes guidelines, rules and regulations for the third tranche compensation adjustment stipulated under EO No. 201.

The executive order provided at least a four year implementation of the compensation adjustment for local government personnel modifies the salary schedule for civilian government personnel and authorizes the grant of additional benefit for civilian, military and uniformed personnel.

The grant of Performance-Based Bonus (PBB) for personnel of local government units (LGUs) is also provided in the Local Budget Circular.

It shall, however, be in accordance with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the DBM Joint Memorandum Circular No. 2017-4 dated June 7, 2017 and other guidelines. (eor/CdeOSP)
