Heeding the recommendation of health officials and experts, the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) has placed four areas in the country under enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) on Friday.
In a news statement, Presidential spokesman Harry Roque said the IATF elevated to the most restrictive ECQ from the more relaxed modified ECQ the entire lloilo Province, Iloilo City, Cagayan de Oro and Gingoog Cities until the end of the month.
Also placed under a higher community classification is Misamis Oriental, which will now be under general community quarantine (GCQ) from its previous modified GCQ (MGCQ) classification.
The amended community classification of list of the IATF also extended the GCQ of Antique from July 22, 2021 to July 31, 2021.
“The reclassification was made upon the recommendations of the Department of Health, its Technical Advisory Group, and the Technical Working Group on Covid-19 Variants,” Roque said.
