FINANCIAL technology (fintech) company CreditBPO Tech Inc. announced it has won the “Green and Inclusive Finance Solutions” category in the first “Europa Awards” 2021 last June 10.

CreditBPO said in a statement the firm was recognized for its “active support to businesses engaging in green projects by promoting and supporting the flow of financial instruments and other related services for the development and implementation of sustainable business models, green investments and policies promoting sustainability.”

The “Europa Awards” was organized by the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines to promote and recognize companies with exceptional performance and contributions in promoting sustainability in line with global standards and the Philippine Development Plan.

In an acceptance speech, CreditBPO Founder and CEO Maria Cecilia O. Francisco said that sustainability and financial inclusion had always been at the heart of what they did at the company.

“Our advocacy of better access to finance has always been anchored on the need to ensure sustainability—sustainability aided by technology-generated insight to balance prudence and growth that at the outset does not threaten the survivability of a business or its proponent, and helps businesses avoid the debt-trap, among others,” Francisco said.

The company was founded to help bridge the financial information gap, help address financial risk, reduce operating expenses, ease workflows and provide its stakeholders with a roadmap of growth for companies who use its service as part of their credit decision process.

“The transition to sustainability through technology may be uncomfortable at first, a cause of fear for some because of its short-term disruptive effects. But the collective, long-term impact will be worthwhile,” Francisco said.

“Let’s all create a credit ecosystem that is strong, trustworthy, inclusive but not predatory, within a balanced playing field brought on by true empowerment assisted by technology. This will generate greater dynamism in the deal flow and progress for all businesses,” she added.
