First Batch Of 5,300 Returning Filipinos Arrives In ZC Sunday

The first batch of undocumented Filipinos in Sabah have arrived in the country Sunday. Ninety-six (96) of the 395 returning Filipinos from Sabah, safely arrived in Zamboanga City, July 5, aboard the Aleson Shipping boat. Out of the 96 returning Filipinos, 12 are from Zamboanga City while the rest are from the neighbouring provinces.

Those residents of Zamboanga were ferried to the Ecozone facility for quarantine while those from other provinces were immediately fetched by their respective LGUs.

The 97 passengers form part of the first batch of 395 returnees from Sabah repatriated by the national government.

About 295 other returnees disembarked in Tawi-Tawi as they are from BARRM.

Some 5,300 returning Filipinos from Sabah will be repatriated to the Philippines via Zamboanga port in several batches of 400 at an interval of 15 days.
