The Regional Task Force COVID19 One Caraga Shield has agreed to lift the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in the five provinces in the region and impose general community quarantine (GCQ) effective May 1.
However, Butuan City Mayor Ronnie Vicente Lagnada recommended that the city shall remain under ECQ, awaiting for approval of the Interagency Task Force. This is because the city remains to be the epicenter of the confirmed COVID-19 cases in the region, with authorities still monitoring its development.
