The Department of Health (DOH) on Friday said fully-vaccinated senior citizens in areas under general community quarantine (GCQ) and modified GCQ will be allowed to go out starting June 16, 2021.
However, Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said they should still observe minimum public health standards.
“Maaari kayong lumabas pero kailangan lagi pa rin kayong naka-mask, naka-face shield at nagprapractice ng physical distancing. Iwasan ang matataong lugar,
[You can go out but you should wear a mask, face shield, and practice physical distancing. Avoid crowded places also],” Vergeire said.
According to Health Francisco T. Duque III, out of 9 million senior citizens, 442,000 had already receives their first and second Covid-19 vaccine doses.
As the government expanded the vaccination program, the DOH urged the public, especially senior citizens and persons with comorbidities, to participate in the government’s Covid-19 vaccination program.
The DOH stressed that the vaccine is an added layer of protection against the virus.
