The Sui Generis Missions and CebuDoctors Group recently extended a pioneer medical mission in the Province of Zamboanga del Norte, catering to a total of 962 ZaNortehanon patients last June 15 to 16, 2024 at the Zamboanga del Norte Medical Center.
The humanitarian medical mission was a collaboration brought to the province of Zamboanga del Norte with the support of the Provincial Government Governor Rosalina “Nanay Nene” Jalosjos along with the efforts of Zamboanga del Norte Medical Center-Chief of Hospital, Dr. George Walthrode Opay and Acting Hospital Administrator, Dr. Oswaldo J. Lamdag.
The Sui Generis Surgical Mission stood as a torch of hope, extending a line-up of comprehensive medical services to those in need ranging from general surgery (such as hernia repair, thyroidectomy, and hemorrhoidectomy), minimally invasive surgery (like laparoscopic cholecystectomy and hernia repair), vascular surgery (arteriovenous fistula creation), minor surgeries conducted over two-day cycles, OB-GYNE check-ups and procedures (such as Tahbso and colposcopy), down to ophthalmology (including cataract and pterygium surgeries). Also included are optometry and dental services, thus, offering a broad spectrum of healthcare support.
The beneficiaries extended their heartfelt appreciation to the Sui Generis team and to the Provincial Government of ZaNorte for the conductof this medical mission. Noticeably, plenty of individuals received medical care which they had long needed, offering them hope of life and brighter outlook for the future.
This significant initiative ofhumane activity marked the very first Surgical Mission assembled by the valued Sui Generis group in Zamboanga del Norte; indeed, a meaningful breakthrough to providing medical care and assistance in the province. (Ginalin G. Ma and Nena M. Garcia)
