Dipolog: PG-ZDN Turnover 10.5 Million Pesos support for Project OTUC of DEPED

The 365 television units of (55”) UHD Smart TV turnover ceremony of Project One Television Per Classroom (OTUC) activity through the Special Education Fund (SEF) of Zamboanga del Norte was held at the Zamboanga del Norte Plenary Hall last July 26 , 2024.

The Zamboanga del Norte Governor Rosalina “Nanay Nene” G. Jalosjos through Provincial Administrator Wilberth ” Gaw Jojo” G. Magallanes together with SDS Roy C. Tuballa of DepEd aimed to transform a resilient and modernized basic education, the Schools Division and the Provincial Government of Zamboanga del Norte has forged to implement the Project OTUC (One Television Unit per Classroom) through the Special Education Fund of 10.7 Million Pesos.

Former Congressman of the 1st Congressional District of Zamboanga del Norte, Cong. Romeo” Jon-Jon” Jalosjos represented the Governor also extends his heartfelt gratitude to the Department of Education for its continued support for education and have high hopes that the project will help teachers in their class instruction and for the students to appreciate and learn more through technology and improved learning visuals.

This project enables the technologically equip classrooms with smart TV to aid teachers in the delivery of lessons and improve learning outcomes. Three hundred sixty-five (365) television units of (55) UHD Smart TV were proportionately distributed to the three Congressional Districts of the province.

For the First District 123 units, second District 122 units and for the Third District 120 UHD Smart Television Units. The heart-warming ceremony was enjoined by the Office of the Governor Officers and staff, Division Executive Committee Members. EPS’s , PSD’s , and School Heads.

Administrator Magallanes also bared plans that the provincial government will continue to support the education sector as it explored another partnership endeavors with Dep-Ed in providing hardware for internet connectivity for far-flung schools where internet is a challenge. Dep-Ed through Dr. Tuballa also confirmed that the Department fo Education will handle cost for monthly subscription to sustain the purpose of the project.

Further, support for Brigada Eskwela worth Php.2 Million pesos is also shared by Administrator Magallanes before the Department of Education School Principals which will cover repainting of several schools in the province to prepare the schools prior the opening of classes. (Angelica T. Obina)
