A detainee was found unconscious in the detention cell of Zamboanga City Police Station 7 at 5:30 PM of April 2, 2021, a police report claimed.
Regional Police Spokesman Capt. Edwin Duco identified the victim as Alganar Musa y Hadi a.k.a. “Gans”, 42 years old, male, married, construction worker, elementary level, and a resident of Barangay Kasanyangan, Zamboanga City.
Police at the said station discovered and brought the victim to Zamboanga City Medical Center for medical attention but was declared dead on arrival by Dr. Saima Aran, the attending physician.
The victim was arrested during the anti-illegal drugs operation at Phase 4, Barangay Kasanyangan, Zamboanga City at 9:30 AM of April 2, 2021.
Duco said, Investigation disclosed that through the CCTV footage of the police station, he was mauled to death by suspects Henry Francisco y Fernandez, 50 years old, male, single; Crisanto Ismael y Damulong, 41 years old, male, separated, Jobert Alejandro y Galang, 32 years old, male, single, John Kevin Perez y Perez, 27 years old, male, single and Romeo Bartolome Jr y Enriquez, 43 years old male, married all are also detainees of the said police station with pending cases for Violation of R.A. 9165.
Further, an appropriate case is now being prepared by Zamboanga City Police Station 7 against the detained suspects.
