Davao City – The City Government of Davao will be expanding the current bed capacity of its Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facilities to deal with the surge in COVID-19 cases in the city.

Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio said they are fast-tracking a stand-by facility and looking at opening two more TTFMFs.

She said it was done as requested by the acting department head of the City Health Office who is also in charge of the health group.

“Ang success sa pagmanage sa isa ka surge is making sure na tama ang connection sa testing, tracing, isolation. So dapat dunay testing, paspas ang tracing para makitan ang iyang mga contacts, ma test ang iyang mga contacts ug ma-isolate dayon para di makatakud (The success in managing a surge is making sure that there is a right connection between testing, tracing and isolation. There should be testing, tracing is done fast to find their contacts, they be tested and isolated so they won’t be infecting others),” The Mayor said during her guesting at Davao City Disaster Radio.

She again reiterated to the public that Davao City is in the midst of another surge and to refrain from going out for non-essential activities. (RG Alama, Philippine Information Agency)
