Camp Col. Rafael C. Rodriguez, Butuan City – A political instructor of the New People’s Army (NPA) surrendered to the police force yesterday, March 26 in Kitcharao town, Agusan del Norte. A.k.a. “Vincent”, 31 years old, resident of Brgy. Malitbog, Southern Leyte turned himself in to Kitcharao Municipal Police Station, 2nd Agusan del Norte Provincial Mobile Force Company, and Agusan del Norte Provincial Intelligence Unit around 1:10 PM.
Based on the intelligence report, he served as political instructor of Regional Sentro De Gravidad under the Northeastern Mindanao Regional Committee, and was listed in the Periodic Status Report in 2018.
Police Regional Office (PRO)13 Director BRIGADIER GENERAL ROMEO M CARAMAT, JR. has welcomed the former rebel who made the right decision of taking the path towards genuine peace.
Once the profiling and interview is completed, a.k.a Vincent will be enrolled in the government’s Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) making him entitled to several benefits.
The leadership of PRO13 urged all the remaining active members of the NPA to lay down their arms and abandon the ruthless ideology. “His decision to return to the folds of the law shall inspire his comrades to do the same. The surrender of this political instructor will eventually paralyze the recruitment activities of the NPA in the communities,” RD CARAMAT, JR. stressed out.
