As of September 23, 2021, some 299,051 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in Zamboanga City, according to the City Health Office (CHO).
A total of 177, 948 individuals or 26% of the total target eligible population received their first dose while 121,103 individuals or 17% received their second dose and are considered fully vaccinated.
The vaccines made available included Sinovac, Astrazeneca, Moderna, Pfizer, Janssen and Sputnik V. Except for Astrazeneca, all the other vaccines were donations from the COVAX facility with some purchased by private companies for the inoculation of their employees. Part of the Astrazeneca vaccines used were those purchased by the City Government through a multi-lateral agreement signed by Mayor Beng Climaco last January.
The vaccination rollout in Zamboanga City started middle of March this year targeting 694,606 individuals or 70% of the eligible population.
