Coast Guard, Teacher And One Other Nabbed In Drug Bust In Zamboanga

Zamboanga City – A member of the Philippine Coast Guard and a High School teacher and one other were nabbed in a drug bust operation Saturday morning in a Barangay within city limits, police report said.

Elements of the Police Station 11 Anti-Drugs enforcement team conducted a drug bust operation at Atis Drive, Baliwasan at around 10:30 in the morning Saturday, May 15, 2021 and nabbed three persons.

 

Based on the report forwarded to Police Station 11 Commander, P/Maj Chester N. Natividad by P/Lt. Royland Cordero, chief of the Station Drug Enforcement Team, the buy bust operation was carried out police operatives acting as buyer of illegal drugs.

 

Natividad identified the arrested suspects as Ryan Manuel y Landingin, a member of the Philippine Coast Guard and his wife Marites Manuel y Salvador and John Caput y Gaganting. The report did not mention on the place of assignment of the alleged member of the Philippine Coast Guard.

The teacher, who is a wife of the member of the Philippine Coast Guard is a high school teacher here in Zamboanga, the report claimed.

 

Natividad quoting the report claimed, the operatives were able to confiscate from the possession of the three suspects one(1) coin purse, four (4)pcs assorted sizes of heat sealed transparent sachet including buy bust item, one(1) piece of five hundred peso bill.

The estimated market value of the alleged shabu confiscated weighing more or less 35.5 grams has a street value of ₱ 244,600.00, Natividad said. (Zamboanga City Police Office – Public Information Office)
