The City Government of Surigao invited 64 students for an orientation as they prepare for their 20-day summer job under the Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES).

This initiative, led by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), aims to bridge youth employment and provide financial support to out-of-school youth and financially disadvantaged students.

The students were selected based on their performance in an examination, with the top 64 scorers being chosen for the program.

The orientation featured speakers including City Human Resource Management and Development Officer Hairee Cel Pedimonte and DOLE Labor and Employment Officer Jul Christine Manseguiao. Public Employment and Skills Development Officer Arciazel Lagrama also shared insights and guidance with the students as they embark on this meaningful work experience.

Under the leadership of Mayor Pablo Yves L. Dumlao II, the City Government of Surigao is committed to empowering young individuals, ensuring they receive necessary assistance to continue their education. This summer job program not only provides financial aid but also prepares the youth for their future academic pursuits. (Mark James Lisondra)
