Farmers from 36 barangays in Iriga City showcased their bountiful harvest and agricultural products in a “Farmer’s Day Celebration” in connection with the Tinagba Festival, held at Iriga City Sports Complex on February 10.
The City Government through the Office of the City Agriculturist and Office of the City Veterinarian, led the annual “Farmers Day Celebration”, to give importance to their huge contribution in shaping the local economy and building the socio-economic prosperity of the city.
Mayor Rex C. Oliva assured the farmers that the city will extend its full support in uplifting the lives of the farmers and their families, also the city owes much of its prosperity and growth dedication and toil of its farmer, who work tirelessly on the vast field, providing sustenance for countless families.
During the program, the farmers from every barangay also participated in the “Ang PINAKA Contest and Extra Challenge (Greasy Pig Catching).
As a tribute to the farmers, the City of Iriga also made sure to provide Free medical and Dental Mission to the farmers and their families.
This year, the celebration was highlighted by the awarding for the recently held activities of City Agriculture and City Vet. including the “PINAKA Contest” and “Arriba Extra Challenge-Livestock Edition”.
