Matod sa Cebu City PIO nga gidapit na ni Mayor Raymond Alvin Garcia si Presidente Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. (PBBM) nga motambong sa Sinulog karong umaabot Enero 19, 2025.
Gibutyag niya kini atol sa usa ka press conference kagahapon, Disyembre 2, 2024 nga gipirmahan na niya ang imbitasyon alang kang President Marcos.
“That’s standard. Standard na na. In fact, I have already signed the invitation for President BBM to come here…. Dako kaayo na nga garbo ug honor nato nga ang president mo anhi diri,” pulong niya.
Gipadayag sab ni Mayor Garcia nga ang presidente lang ang moistorya atol sa pagsaulog sa grand parade ug dili na ang uban pang mga bisita, aron nga malikayan nga masagolan og pulitika ang okasyon.
“You know you avoid that (politicizing the event). Dili nimo sila paistoryahon tingali, only the president. So, I will have to discuss that with the Sinulog Foundation as well as many of the atong mga konsehal, to see how we control that,” ingon niya.
“What I’m thinking of is just let the president speak unya everybody else, of course, mga incumbent senators and re-electionists, we always acknowledge them sa grandstand. Ngano gud dili, di ba?” dugang sa mayor.
Niingon sab si Mayor Garcia nga abli ra gyud ang Sinulog alang sa tanan nga gustong motambong sa okasyon.
