“As a general rule, we always say, the church people—bishops, priests, should be non-partisan,” mensahi ni Palma.
Gihimug-atan ni Palma nga wala tugti ang mga kaparian nga mo endorso ug kandidato mao sab mismo ang simbahan.
“As a bishop, as a church leader, I for one, should say, do not use the church to endorse a particular candidate,” pasabot ni Palma.
Kabahin sa lay people, gidasig sila ni Palma nga manginlabot sa elections.
“Lay people should feel involved. The Pope would use—should meddle in politics, they should campaign for those they believe bring/deliver for the good of the country but we use the word responsible voting discernment,” dugang mensahi ni Palma.

“We are coming out, I mean the CBCP, a pastoral letter, which is a good guidance for both the candidates and the voters,“ pahibaw ni Palma.
“The document is in our hands. We are in the process of meeting together, fine tuning it and eventually coming out with guidelines. The idea is responsible voting and active involvement especially of the lay people,” dugang sa arsobispo.
Alang kang Palma nga kinahanglang tun-an ang daghang aspeto sa kinabuhi sa kandidato, gikan sa iyang personal/track record ngadto na sa iyang kapasidad ug mga programang nahimo.
