Anti-illegal drugs operatives seized on Monday at least P102 million worth of shabu and arrested a suspect during an operation in Caloocan City.

The illegal drugs were taken following a buy-bust operation carried out by operatives from the Philippine National Police – Drug Enforcement Group PNP-DEG) and Philippine Drugs Enforcement Agency.

Citing a report from the DEG, PNP chief General Dionardo Carlos said during a news briefing on Monday that the drugs were seized following the buy-bust along Baesa Road in Caloocan City.

Carlos identified the arrested suspect during the operation as Randy Rafael, 42, resident of Pasay City.

Confiscated from Rafael’s possession were 15 pieces of Chinese teabag containing more or less one kilo of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride also known as shabu.

The operatives also recovered two pieces of P1,000 bill dusted with ultra violet powder that were included in the boodle and a mobile phone.

“Since my first day as the top cop, I will make sure that we will continue to intensify our campaign against illegal drug peddlers and put them all behind bars,” Carlos said.

“Based on initial investigation, the said suspect is working for a Chinese drug personality known only by the alias ‘Lim’ who is openly distributing illegal drugs in NCR (National Capital Region) and nearby areas,” he said.

Carlos said Lim is currently the subject of an operation by the DEG.
