Going back to the basics through simple hand washing to fight COVID-19 and other illnesses, Philippine Red Cross Benguet Chapter led by its chapter administrator Mr. Oscar Paris in partnership with Benguet Society of British Columbia Canada headed by its president Mr. Bruce Ganase and the United Filipino Canadian Associations in British Columbia turned over 25 units of portable wash stations to SDO Benguet.
The turnover of the wash stations is the 4th wave of such activity organized by the Philippine Red Cross Chapter; with 75 drumvatories/ wash stations having been turned over in the first three waves done in separate dates and venues earlier this year.
Donors for this batch include Rotary Club Vancouver Mountainview, T1 Mobile, Tribu Productions, George Gutierrez and Family, Joel Castillo, Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants- Vancouver, MAG Construction Company, Just Like Family Home Care, Merlina and Edmund Fayusal, Mel and Rachel Anita and other kind-hearted individuals and organizations.
Mr. Paris remarked that said project will be a continuing initiative and monitoring will be done to assess the impact and usefulness of such materials as preventive measures against Coronavirus and other diseases.
In her message, SDS Benilda Daytaca expressed heartfelt gratitude to the aforementioned partners for prioritizing the division of Benguet. She also acknowledged the need for partnership in implementing programs that cater to the welfare and development of learners. The importance of such facilities is also evident with LGUs and other agencies and institutions replicating it.
Beneficiary districts and school for this batch include Atok, Bokod, Buguias, Itogon, Kabayan, Mankayan and Benguet SPED.
Also present during the turnover were Jayne Docusen, representative of BSBC Canada, several of PRC- Benguet Board of Directors, personnel and volunteers, Chief of SGOD, Mr. Lucio Alawas, PSDSes of the recipient districts and other SDO Benguet personnel. (DepEd Benguet)
