The Producer-to-Consumer (P2C) Program of the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte’s (PGIN) Micro Small Medium Enterprises Office (MSMEO) was recognized as the 2024 Presidential Awardee for Outstanding Development Partner in Providing/Improving Market Access to MSMEs by the Department of Trade and Industry.
This award honors MSMEs and development partners who have made significant contributions in various areas, including business climate, access to finance, markets, technology, innovation, and capacity building.
P2C is a monthly event which aims to empower accredited MSME entrepreneurs and farmers in the province of Ilocos Norte by providing them with an expanded platform to market their products to various areas in Metro Manila, namely Quezon City and San Juan City.
The latest three-day sale of the province’s P2C in Quezon City saw an increase in accumulated sales due to the influx of combined walk-in and delivery orders, reaching Php 1.2 million in total sales.
Ms. Elma Gabriel, Head of the Micro Small Medium Enterprises Office expressed her joy for the award and shared their office’s future plans, stating:
“Maragsakankami unay because we are being recognized for our efforts in supporting our local MSMEs not only by the communities we serve but on a national level.
P2C is one of our priority programs when it comes to marketing and promotions of our MSMEs kasi its level is highly urbanized cities in Metro Manila. We aim to increase our LGU Partners in Metro Manila. We are also still actively implementing our programs at the local level such as the Sunday Market, our Incubation Center, and Mataginayon 2024, among others.”
Over the years, PGIN, under the leadership of Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc, sustained its commitment in developing and implementing programs that aim to support the local businesses in the province by helping them improve their product quality and expanding their market reach.
Ms. Gabriel will attend the awarding ceremony on behalf of the Provincial Government on July 10 at the Malacañang Palace. (Allyssa Charisse Magno)
