At about 01:37 PM of September 9, 2024, a cellphone call was received by Bacarra MPS informing that a commotion incident was in progress at Brgy. 40, Buyon Bacarra, Ilocos Norte, immediately personnel of Bacarra Municipal Police Station proceeded at the said place.
Upon arrival thereat, an initial investigation disclosed that according to the victim Nestor Acosta y Castillo, legal age, married, farmer, resident of Brgy. 40 Buyon Bacarra, Ilocos Norte, he was allegedly threatened by the suspect Silverio Curammeng y Queja, 59 years old, married, businessman, resident of Brgy. 14 San Gabriel II Bacarra, Ilocos Norte with the used of firearm. Accordingly, at about 11:00AM of the same date, the victim visited his farm which is located at the same barangay, he was then surprised that an approximate 10 fattener goats owned by the suspect were the actually eating the grew vegetables planted by him. At that juncture, the victim calls the assistance of Brgy. Kagawad Abraham Acoba Jr., Brgy. Tanod Florante Ramelb and Baranngay Chief Tanod Jupiter Visitacion, moments later the suspect appeared, and an altercation happened.
Further stated by the victim that the suspect brought out his alleged firearm from a black sling bag and consequently shouted “Adda paltog ku ngem diak agus usar ti paltog nga awan ti lisensya na ken awan permit to carry na”. Personnel of this station were able to arrest the suspect and confiscated from his possession control and custody are the following items; one (1) Caliber 45 Glock Austria with SN KOA003 inserted with magazine loaded with ammunitions, three (3) Cal. 45 magazine, thirty-nine (39) live ammunitions placed inside a plastic envelop and one (1) colored black sling bag. Said Operation was recorded by use of two body worn camera duly witnessed by Brgy Kagawad Abraham Acoba Jr. and Brgy. Kagawad Arnel Castillo of said Baranggay.
Furthermore, the incident was witnessed by Jessie Valentin Ramon, 28 years old, single, and Jarret Bracelos Bartolome, 27 years single, both resident of Brgy. 40 Buyon Bacarra, Ilocos Norte.
