Law enforcers destroyed around 16,100 marijuana plants worth ₱ 3,460,000 in three separate plantation sites in Benguet from October 26 to 27, the Philippine National Police Cordillera said.
The plantation sites were located at Barangay Kayapa in the town of Bakun.
The two-day operation conducted by Bakun Municipal Station, PIU and PDEU resulted in the discovery of marijuana plantation sites in three Sitios in Brgy. Kayapa.
At the first site, in Sitio Patong around 1,200 marijuana plants worth ₱ 240,000 were uprooted and destroyed in 300 square meters of land.
Meanwhile, In Sitio Palicdan operatives discovered three plantation sites with 2,900 marijuana plants worth ₱ 580,000 in 650 square meters land area and dried marijuana stalks weighing more or less 2,000 grams worth ₱ 240,000.
In another site, in Sitio Beey-Langew, 12,000 pieces of fully grown marijuana plants worth ₱ 2,400,000 were uprooted and destroyed in 3,000 square meters land area.
