Bacolod City – Negros Occidental recently logged zero cases of COVID-19 as the number further dropped to a low of 27, from 37 on April 4, a report of the Provincial Incident Management Team said.
Nine recoveries and a single death were reported.
Since the start of the pandemic in 2020, Negros Occidental logged total of 41,364 cases, with 39,371 recoveries and 1,965 deaths, PIMT records further showed.
The provincial government of Negros Occidental has recommended more local government units in Negros Occidental to be placed under COVID-19 Alert Level 1 by April 16.
Provincial Inter Agency Task Force action officer Rayfrando Diaz earlier disclosed that there are seven more additional LGUs in Negros Occidental that performed well, with 70 percent and above of their 80 percent targeted population already vaccinated.
They are composed of Cadiz City, Talisay City, Murcia, Pontevedra, Victorias City, Silay City and Candoni.
The Inter-Agency Task Force, as recommended by the Department of Health, earlier declared the towns of EB Magalona, Pulupandan and San Enrique, as well as the component cities of La Carlota and Sagay under Alert Level 1, following a request of the provincial government of Negros Occidental that the declaration of alert level classification should be done per LGU and not by the province.
