Bacolod City – A gun ban will be enforced by the Philippine National Police in Bacolod City and Negros Occidental during the week-long Panaad sa Negros Festival.
In a statement, the PNP said the enforcement of gun ban will take effect from April 17 to 23.
All Permits To Carry Firearms Outside Residence (PTCFOR) will be suspended on the duration of the festival.
Only members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, National Police and other law enforcement agencies who are performing official duties, in agency prescribed uniform, shall be allowed to carry firearms, it added.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Vice President Sara Duterte have been invited by the provincial government of Negros Occidental to attend the Panaad sa Negros festivities.
On Thursday, Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson disclosed that work on some of the local government unit pavilions are now being expedited, to be finished in time for the festival.
The provincial government gave P300,000 financial assistance to each of the participating LGUs.
