Bacolod City – The Bacolod Chicken Inasal Festival will again be held from May 26 to 28, and targets to exceed the longest grill that the city recorded four years ago, which was 300 meters.

The festival will be held in three different venues: The Upper East, Manokan Country, and the North Capitol Road, where the opening ceremony will be held.

Tasting and pairing events, Inasal rewards, Barangay Inasal cook off with pre-event workshop, a grand inasal tasting pavilion, and the longest inasal grilling, are among the events lined up for this year’s festivities.

Councilor Celia Matea Flor emphasized that the festival concept is to promote Manokan Country as an icon of Bacolod City.

She said the tasting and pairing events will be held on the first day at the North Capitol Road, while the awarding rites will be held on the second day at the Manokan Country.

The longest grill, spanning 320 meters, will be held on the third day at The Upper East, where Manokan Country tenants and others who are interested to join are expected to participate. All events start at 5 p.m., she said.

They have invited civic clubs and sponsors who will be buying grilling packages for their own beneficiaries, Flor added.

The Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod approved an ordinance amending City Ordinance No. 847, which amended C.O. No. 482, establishing the Manokan Country Inasal Festival as an annual event in Bacolod City, by incorporating a special committee. (Chrysee Semillano via tvds photo by tvds)
