849 TUPAD beneficiaries undergo Orientation at Iriga Sports Center

A total of 849 beneficiaries of the TUPAD program participated in an orientation held yesterday at the Iriga Sports Center. The program, aimed at providing temporary employment to displaced and underemployed workers, was funded through allocations from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and Senator Francis Tolentino.

DOLE allocated a budget of PHP 3 million, benefiting 631 individuals as part of the commitment made by the late Regional Director Zenaida Campita. Additionally, Senator Francis Tolentino provided PHP 1 million in funding, supporting 218 more beneficiaries.

Mayor Rex Oliva and Vice Mayor Edsel Dimaiwat together with City Officials were present during the event, expressing their support for the beneficiaries and emphasizing the importance of the program in providing immediate employment opportunities.

The TUPAD program includes regular work activities such as street cleaning and hazardous tasks like canal desilting. The orientation was led by DOLE Provincial Head’s representative, Ms. Cherry Brosola, TUPAD Focal Person, who was accompanied by her team to guide the participants through the program’s details and requirements.

This orientation program was in coordination with Public Employment Service Office (PESO) headed by Engr. Cynthia D. Audal.
