37 Jolo C-130 Plane Crash Survivors Receives Assistance From DSWD

A total of 37 C-130 plane crash survivors admitted at the different hospitals received assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) regional office 9.

Alvin Dacanay, Information Officer, DSWD FO9 Disaster Response Management Division said, of the 37 survivors who received the assistance, 14 at Camp Navaro General Hospital, Zamboanga City Medical Center 22, and Ciudad Medical Zamboanga 1.

The survivors receive cash assistance of P5,000.00 from the DSWD- Crisis Intervention Unit, Family kits, Hygiene kits and sleeping kits.

Items were either received by their victims themselves or their watchers. He said, these survivors who received the assistance were wounded soldiers to include civilians.

“This is the initiative of the department to immediately assist the survivors in times of traumatic events,” Dacanay said.

He added, this is just immediate assistance, social workers will still assess for additional assistance which can be given to these survivors.
