Two fishermen sustained burn injuries after they were accidentally hit by lightning along the coastal area of Brgy. Salawagan, Dimataling, Zamboanga del Sur at 4:30 PM of October 31, 2020. The victims were identified as Jamelacay Sala, 17 years old, single, male, fisherman and Eddie Mohale, 40 years old, married, male, fisherman, both residents of Purok 10, Brgy. Salawagan, Dimataling, Zamboanga del Sur. Investigation disclosed that prior to the incident, both victims were fishing at coastal area of Brgy. Salawagan, Dimataling, Zamboanga del Sur when accidentally hit by a lightning causing them to sustained burn injuries on their bodies.
Both victims were brought by a concerned citizen to Pitogo Rural Health Unit, Pitogo, Zamboanga del Sur and subsequently transferred to Margosatubig Regional Hospital, Margosatubig, Zamboanga del Sur for further medical treatment. (PCpt. Edwin A. Duco, Chief Public Information Officer)
