1,183 ka mga Surigaonons, nakadawat nan Cash Assistance gikan s AICS program

A total of 1,183 Batang Surigaonons from mainland and island barangays received financial aid through the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) program, held today, September 26, 2024, at the City Cultural Center.

Facilitated by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), each beneficiary received P3,000 to help alleviate immediate financial needs. The AICS program assists those facing crises, providing support for medical expenses, funeral services, education, transportation, food, and other essential needs.

Senator Mark Villar and Congresswoman Camille Villar supported the initiative, ensuring that Batang Surigaonons in need received the assistance they deserved. The local government expressed gratitude to Senator Villar and Congresswoman Villar for their unwavering support, which has greatly benefited the community.

Present during the event were City Mayor Pablo Yves L. Dumlao II, Vice Governor Eddie Gokiangkee Jr., Sen. Villar’s Political Affairs Officer Joyce Alayan, CSWD Officer Lenie S. Liray, Assistant CSWD Officer Markcaven Salar, and Surigao del Norte DSWD Satellite SWAD Leader Thesa Joy Musa.

In his message, Mayor Paul Dumlao expressed gratitude for the program and its significant role in providing aid to Surigaonons. He emphasized the value of continued collaboration between government units and organizations to sustain the program, highlighting its importance in addressing the needs of vulnerable communities.
