115 Scholars To Benefit From Tsuper Iskolar Program Of TESDA, DoTR

Loakan, Baguio City – The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority- CAR conducts Training Induction Program (TIP) on “Tsuper Iskolar” for 115 scholars in Mt. Carmel Agri-Tourism and Training Center Abra.

The beneficiaries of the program are; displaced persons affected by the Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program (PUVMP), stakeholders who opt to voluntarily exit from the transport industry, stakeholders who opt to continue in the transport industry, new stakeholders in the transport industry, and family members/dependents of the affected stakeholders up to the third degree of consanguinity or affinity.

TESDA Abra Provincial Director Florante Herrera said the main objective of the TESDA-DOTR Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) is to help those affected by the modernization of the transport sector.

Each scholar is entitled to receive free skills training, free skills assessment, free entrepreneurship training (for CoC qualifications), and training support fund to cover food and transportation allowance equivalent to Php350 per training day attended for a maximum of 35 days.

“The project aims to capacitate the stakeholders of the PUVMP through training and development of new training regulations to support the transportation industry”, Herrera underscored.

The 115 scholars were oriented about the training program, its benefits, and their responsibilities as beneficiaries. The scholars are enrolled in different qualifications, 40 scholars in Barista, 25 scholars in Animal Production (Swine), 25 scholars in Animal Production (Poultry) and 25 scholars in HEO Backhoe Operator.

Meanwhile, DOTR OIC Provincial Head Jose B. Denna thanked TESDA for partnering with DoTR to assist beneficiaries of those displaced and affected by modernization of the transport sector.

“Hinihimok ko ang bawat isa na gawin ang kanilang makakaya upang makumpleto ang kani-kanilang programa at makabisado ang mga kasanayan para sa mga produktibong aktibidad para sa ekonomiya” he added. (Stephanie Nicole M. Peligman)
