₱13.7M Worth Of Marijuana Destroyed In Benguet

Camp Major Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet – The relentless anti- narcotics operations in Benguet Province resulted in the destruction of fully grown marijuana plants worth ₱ 13, 816, 600 in the hinterlands of Benguet province for the month of November.

Following the destruction of ₱ 2.2 million worth of marijuana plants last Tuesday, another 10.7 million worth of marijuana plants were uprooted and destroyed on November 25, 2020.

The three marijuana plantation sites with an estimated land area of 13,070 square meters planted with an estimated 52,200 fully grown marijuana plants and 2,500 marijuana seedlings worth amounting to ₱ 10,740,000.00 were discovered by the drug operatives of Benguet police at Sitio Legab, Kayapa, Bakun, Benguet.

All uprooted marijuana plants were burned on site and only samples were brought by the operatives for evidentiary purposes.

For this month of November alone, Benguet Police Provincial Office (PPO) conducted seven marijuana eradication operations that resulted in the discovery of 71,083 fully grown marijuana plants and seedlings.

Meanwhile, five drug personalities including three High Value Individuals (HVI) were captured during a separate buy-bust operation in Buguias and Baguio City that resulted in the seizure of around ₱ 37,960.00 worth of shabu and assorted drug paraphernalia.
