All the ten municipalities in Mt. Province got high compliance rating from the validation team of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) on the implementation of the 60-day road clearing.

The success of this road clearing directive is due to the political will and cooperation of the people of this province in Cordillera region.

The province was among the 328 LGUs that got high compliance rating all over the country in its initial report awaiting the complete result of the evaluation.

The DILG said that the nationwide road clearing efforts by local government units have been “generally success” as only 97 out of the 1,245 local government units all over the country have been to be non-compliant and will be issued show cause orders by the department.

Of the 97 LGUs 11 are from Region 1, one each from Region II and Region III, seven from MIMAROPA, ten from Region V, one from Region VI, 12 from Region VII, nine from Region VII, 18 Region IX, 13 from Region X, three each from Region XI and Region XII and four each from Region XIII and Cordillera region.

On the part of Baguio city the evaluation team rated its road clearing as medium compliance.

It can be recalled that earlier the DILG Secretary Eduardo M. Ano warned that the sanctions on local government officials who are unable to comply with the order of the President would range from a reprimand, suspension, to dismissal from the service. After the 60-day deadline on September 29, Año assures that he would review the accomplishments of all LGUs.
