Zamboanga City – The Zamboanga City Reformatory Center (ZCRC), will intensify their Electronic Dalaw or (E-Dalaw) to benefit Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) who were not allowed to take in visitors for more than a year now.
SJO1 Rey Laurence Comprendio, ZCJ Information Officer said, this was the instruction of Jail Warden, J/Supt. Nathanel L. Aljas.
Comprendio said, March last year, visitations for PDL’s were suspended till now due to the pandemic, Coronavirus Disease 2019.
Only things to be given to the PDLs are being accepted to include food, toiletries, and other stuff brought by their love ones intended for them.
Because of the situation, PDLs are given time to communicate with their loved ones using the internet through the E-Dalaw.
They are using the personal computers for E Dalaw for 10 to 15 minutes while being monitored by jail personnels.
Comprendio said, priority is being given to those with emergencies or those who really need to talk to their love ones.
Currently, there are 2,600 PDLs detained inside the ZCRC
Meanwhile, the office is also preparing for the resumption of jail visitation.
There is no schedule yet from the higher office but they are now preparing the area to include the plastic barriers so that in case this will be allowed they can open immediately. (R.G. Antonet A. Go)
