Just in time for Undas, the annual observation of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day, fresh and affordable flowers sourced from La Paz, Zamboanga City are now available for purchase in Plaza Pershing. The flower market is arranged by the City Agriculturist Office, featuring an array of diverse blossoms. The barangay of La Paz is known as Little Baguio where cut flowers are cultivated by the La Paz Flower Growers Association, under the leadership of President Bienvenido Molina.
The flower market commenced on October 28 and runs until November 1, 2023, operating round the clock. Anticipating an increase in demand, the flower growers are prepared for the influx of individuals heading to cemeteries to pay respects to their departed loved ones.
