Over 200 vintas with colorful sails race across the coastline of the famed R.T. Lim Boulevard, as the City Government unveils anew Regatta de Zamboanga, Sunday, October 8, the 8th day of the 2023 Hermosa Festival.
Mayor John Dalipe, who, together with District II Congressman and Majority Leader Mannix Dalipe and Vice Mayor Josephine Pareja graced the event, thanked the participants, organizers and all stakeholders for the very successful event.
Faizal Bayhapti and partner Kaisal Alano, both of Kasanyangan bagged the top prize, defeating Danny Ladja, the defending champion in the traditional vinta race and colorful sales, Regatta de Zamboanga. The duo bested over 200 other aspirants and won P20K cash prize, gift certificates and other items.
Spectators from all walks of life including domestic and international tourists gathered along the kilometer-long stretch of R.T. Lim Boulevard to watch the event, which was held back to back with Wow Sardinas grand boodle fight. (secov, photo credits: Kathy Wee Sit)
