Bus drivers and conductors of public transport services undergo surprise mandatory drug tests at the Integrated Bus Terminal (IBT) in Divisoria Friday morning.

Spearheaded by the Zamboanga Anti-drug Abuse Council (ZCADAC) together with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA-9), Land Transportation Office (LTO9), Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), Philippine National Police (PNP) and the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), the surprise mandatory drug test formed part of Oplan Harabas, a drug-free workplace program for the public transport sector.

Subjects of the mandatory drug tests were drivers and conductors of buses, taxis, jeepneys and tricycles.

The results of the drug test were immediately endorsed to the LTO for proper action. Those who will be tested positive for drugs, will be endorsed by the PDEA to the CHO for proper assessment and intervention.
