ZAMBOANGA: CITY SETS UP PROCESSING CENTER FOR MV TRISHA KRIESTEN’S SURVIVORS

    Effective 11am Wednesday, January 27, 2026, the city government establishes a processing center at the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office at Legionnaire Street in Zone IV to assist survivors of the MV Trisha Kerstin 3 (Aleson Shipping) mishap.

    Mayor Khymer Olaso has directed the setting up of the processing center that will house all agencies involved in processing of assistance for the victims.

    The agencies include City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), City Health Office (CHO), Department of Health (DOH), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD),and Philippine Red Cross as well as the Philippine Coast Guard, Philippine Ports Authority, Zamboanga City Police Office and the Office of the Vice President (OVP).

    The Aleson Shipping Lines forms part of the Processing Center.

    Mayor Olaso has tasked his Chief of Staff and Secretary Celso Lobregat and City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer Elmeir Apolinario as the only designated spokespersons related to the city’s interventions following the maritime incident at Baluk-baluk Island in Basilan.
