Zamboanga: 4 drug-cleared barangays get cash incentives

Mayor John Dalipe Monday morning spearheads the handover of certificates and symbolic checks amounting to ₱ 100k for each of the 4 barangays recently declared as drug-cleared villages.

Barangay officials of Mangusu, Tumitus, Panubigan and Taguiti personally received the certificate and the symbolic check from Mayor John Dalipe, Vice Mayor Josephine Pareja and members of the City Anti-drug Abuse Council Oversight Committee during the flag raising ceremony in City Hall.

Mayor Dalipe highly praised the drug cleared barangays for their commitment to the government’s anti-drug campaign, as he encouraged other villages to do their best efforts to prevent and control drug abuse.

With the additional 4 barangays declared as cleared of drugs Monday, November 21 by the Regional Oversight Committee, the number of drug-cleared and unaffected barangays in the City now total 21.

The 17 drug-cleared and unaffected barangays are the following: Licomo, Limaong, Sibulao, Tictapul, Tigbalabag, Calabasa, Cacao, Lapakan, Tolosa, Landang Laum, Lanzones, Pangapuyan (unaffected), Pasilmanta, Lumayang, Capisan, Dulian and Pamucutan.
