THE Zamboanga City Valientes MLV will join the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) 3×3 competition in April, team owner Junnie Navarro announced on Friday.   “Before my dream was just to play in the PBA, now I will be a team owner of one PBA team,” said Navarro, who said that it was also a dream of his late father, Rolando Navarro Sr. to be involved with the PBA. “The Navarro family has been supporting sports in Zamboanga for two decades already. He started this,” the younger Navarro said. “It is our advocacy to help homegrown Zamboanga basketball players to play in the PBA.”

He expects to bring full-blooded Zamboanga players Rudy Lingganay, Jens Knuttel, Med Salim and Gino Jumao-as and Das Esa, among others, in the PBA 3×3.

They will be supported by Zamboanga City Mayor Beng Climaco.

Zamboanga City Valientes MLV won the CLB 3×3 Champion three times in Canberra, Australia. Besides basketball, Zamboanga Valientes MLV is also supporting Tokyo Olympic-bound boxer Eumir Felix Marcial and Jonas Sultan.
