Technical issues hound DOH as it reports 9,055 new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday and no deaths

A total of 9,055 additional Covid-19 cases were logged by the Department of Health (DOH) on Tuesday, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 2,613,070. No deaths were reported.

“No deaths were reported today (October 5) due to technical issues with COVIDKaya,” the DOH said.

The relatively lower case counts is also due to lower laboratory output last Sunday, October 3.

“The DOH is in constant coordination with the Department of Information and Communications Technology to resolve technical issues with COVIDKaya. DOH will then again issue necessary public advisories to report additional deaths not included in today’s case bulletin due to technical issues of COVIDKaya,” the DOH added..

Twenty-five duplicates were removed from the total case count. Of these, 21 are recoveries.

All laboratories were operational on October 3, 2021 but 7 labs were not able to submit their data to the Covid-19 Document Repository System.

Based on data in the last 14 days, the 7 non-reporting labs contribute, on average, 1.9 percent of samples tested and 0.9 percent of positive individuals.
