After months of waiting, the Community Based Monitoring System Accelerated Poverty Profiling Round III finally took off and field survey has started last Wednesday, March 17 at Barangay Magallanes, Claver, Surigao del Norte.
This project is made possible through the collaborative efforts of LGU offices – MPDO and DILG – under the leadership of Mayor Georgia D. Gokiangkee and TMC-Community Relations and Development Department, headed by its Resident Mine Manager, Engr. Artemio E. Valeroso.
A short orientation was conducted prior to the activity and it was attended by enumerators, field editors, coordinators and barangay officials. Facilitated by the Municipal Planning and Development Office, the CBMS is a tool to assess poverty in the barangay and municipal level and will be used as baseline information in all future reforms and policies of the LGU.
Data gathered in the CBMS will be used for planning and implementation of community development programs, projects and activities for both the LGU and stakeholders.
