Meanwhile, records from the Regional Operations Division from January 9 to June 7 revealed that PNP Caraga arrested a total of 40 persons for violation of the COMELEC Gun Ban, while 1,327 wanted persons, inclusive of 280 Most Wanted Persons, were hauled to jail.

In the same period covered, 23 Search Warrants against loose firearms and illegal drugs were implemented, which resulted in the arrest of 22 suspects.

Meanwhile, five were arrested for violation of the liquor ban from May 8 to May 9.

RD CARAMAT JR emphasized that no media personalities were harmed during the election period.

He added that despite the Intense Political Rivalry in the towns of San Benito and Sison, both of Surigao del Norte and identified one Election Area of Concern (Yellow category), 50 Election Areas of Immediate Concern (Orange Category), and seven Election Areas of Grave Concern (Red Category), NO AREA in the region was placed under COMELEC Control.

“The attainment of this successful and peaceful election in the region is the result of a positive and synergetic relationship of multiple government agencies, particularly Philippine National Police, Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine Coast Guard, Commission on Elections, and other deputized agencies of the COMELEC. We would not accomplish this feat without the contribution of each and everyone,” RD CARAMAT JR. emphasized.
