Surigao City LGU convenes for Local Price Coordinating Council 1st Quarter meeting

The Surigao City Local Price Coordinating Council (LPCC) chaired by the Honorable Mayor Pablo Yves L. Dumlao II, conducted a meeting last February 02 to discuss and come up measures in addressing the high prices of basic and prime commodities, especially the prices of agricultural and marine products in Surigao City.

As a result of the meeting, the following were agreed:

1. Recommend to the Sanguniang Panlungsod for the revision/ updating of City Ordinance No. 339 series of 2012, for the establishment of price range of marine and agricultural products;
2. Installation of two (2) price billboards (at the fish landing and at the entrance of Primark Market) as soon as possible;
3. Conduct of regular monitoring on price tag and weighing scales at the public markets;
4. Creation of Facebook page of LPCC Surigao City as a tool in disseminating information and handling of consumer complaints; and
5. Conduct of capacity building activity for the local Treasurers and personnel in Surigao del Norte on weighing scales calibration to be conducted in partnership with the Department of Science and Technology.
