City Councilor Joenil Aldonza together with City Social Welfare and Development Office Social Welfare Officer Lenie Liray, and Department of Social Welfare and Development, personally delivered a cash gift worth P100,000 to centenarian Remedios Parido Menil from Brgy. Canlanipa.
Born on June 6, 1923, Lola Remedios was a small business owner during her younger years, she used to cook her signature “lutong-bahay” recipes and sell them, she was also fond of selling her own versions of Filipino Kakanin such as Bibingka, Piaya, and Binangkal.
The cash aid is part of the Republic Act 10868 otherwise known as the Centenarians Act of 2016 or An Act Honoring and Granting Additional Benefits and Privileges to Filipino Centenarians and for Other Purposes.
