STATEMENT OF PROVINCIAL GOVERNOR DALE B. CORVERA
“This is in response to the report that I requested Sec. Delfin Lorenzana to defer the return of the ROFs and LSIs to Caraga Region. I did not. HERE’S THE TRUTH: The RTF Covid 19 One Caraga Shield through Resolution No. 41 Series of 2020 favorably endorsed to IATF and NTF the placement of Caraga Region under GCQ and requested for a moratorium of sweeper flights and mercy voyages until the ROFs and LSIs are properly tested in their places of origin because of the increase of the number of confirmed positive cases and the limited number of quarantine facilities of the LGUs in the region. This is in response to the position paper of Mayor Ronnievic Lagnada of Butuan City on the situation. The RTF for Covid 19 One Caraga Shield is a collective body and its decision is being agreed upon by the majority of the members NOT ME ALONE. The ROFs and LSIs have the right to go home to their respective provinces and the RTF just wanted to be sure that they don’t bring with them the virus to protect also the people in the region who also suffered during the lockdown.”
