An 18 year old wanted for rape in Zamboanga del Sur was arrested in Zamboanga City, Police Regional office reported.
Police Capt. Edwin Duco, Regional Police Spokesman in a press briefer claimed the suspected wanted person for rape case was nabbed in a west coast barangay in Zamboanga City by joint elements of Zamboanga Police Office and Tabina Municipal Police Station late Friday afternoon.
The suspect, identified as Jannel Vargas Arellano, 18, was arrested by combine elements in Sitio Laptap, Labuan, Zamboanga City, Duco said.
Labuan is about 36 kilometers west of the city.
Duco claimed the suspect, was arrested by virtue of warrant of arrest for the crime of rape docketed under Criminal Case No. 2020-032 issued by Hon Judge Ruben N. Bance, Branch 29, RTC, 9th Judicial Region, San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur last March 20, 2020.
No bail was recommended.
The arrested subject Arellano Is a resident of Purok Baliti Tabina, Zamboanga Del Sur, Duco claimed.
He is now under the temporary custody of Zamboanga City Police Station 10 in Labuan, for commitment to court, Duco concluded. (PCpt. Edwin A. Duco, Chief Public Information Officer)
