PSA Registers 132,635 For National ID System In Zambo.

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) has registered 132,635 individuals for Zamboanga City for their Step 1 or registration for the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys).

Condrad Sontillano, PSA 9, chief statistical specialist said, they registered 132,635 since the program started last January18, 2021.

These represents the low-income households in the 34 barangays of Zamboanga City. They were targeted in coordination with the city government of Zamboanga.

The house to house Step 1 registration continues until the end of March. Other modes of Step 1 registration will be announced soon.

There are 35 Data Collectors who were employed to gather data on the low income individuals in Zamboanga City.

After Step 1, registration, Step 2 will follow once it becomes available in the region.

For the Step 1, name, sex, date and place of birth, blood type, address, Filipino or alien, marital status, and email address will be asked. For Step 2, photos, iris scan, and fingerprints will be taken.

The final Step, Step 3 is the issuance of PhilSys number and Identification Cards.

For the registration, all will be included to include those below five years old and senior citizens.

Republic Act 11055 known as the Philippine Identification System Act. It is an act establishing a single national identification system that aims to provide a valid proof of identity for Filipino Citizens.
