President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. visits Iriga city, leads rice distribution

President Ferdinand “Bong Bong” R. Marcos Jr. visited Iriga City and led the distribution of 25 kilos of rice to 2,000 beneficiaries from indigent families and indigenous peoples of Camarines Sur in a ceremony at the University of Saint Anthony (USANT) Forum Building today, September 23, 2023.

This is after he attended and led the simultaneous national launching of the ‘Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair’ in Nabua Camarines Sur along with other provinces such Locos Norte, Davao de Oro and Leyte where various programs and services from different national government agencies were consolidated in one venue, including the delivery of several government assistance programs at the Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges (CSPC) in the Municipality of Nabua.

According to PBBM, Bagong Pilipinas is just one of the programs of the government to give hope  and new beginnings to the Pilipinos.

In his speech, Ferdinand Marcos said that Iriga is close to the heart of Marcoses because only Marcoses visit Iriga City.

In an interview, according to Mayor Rex C. Oliva, the last sitting president who visited Iriga was Ferdinand Marcos in 1968 when Iriga was inaugurated as third city in the Bicol Region. This was followed by the visit of President Ferdinand “Bong Bong” R. Marcos Jr. today.
